Zoho CRM Review: Very Good for SMBs

Zoho CRM is a cloud-based CRM system that includes sales, marketing, support and inventory management applications.

Zoho CRM provides contact management, lead management, campaign management, opportunity management, service management and mobile applications in these areas.

Key features

Zoho CRM provides real time sales and opportunity tracking. It includes graphical reports for deal size, contact history and funnel stage.

Forecasting allows you to enter historical or projected demand and increase or decrease the plan by a factor. IT does not do statistical forecasting to project future demand, although it will sum the forecast you’ve put in to project revenue. You can segment forecasts by customer, product, region, territory and more. It provides reports on quota achievement by rep.

The workflow manager allows you to define your unique sales process and ensures that opportunities follow the approved process and get the right approvals.

Zoho CRM allows multiple currencies only in the Enterprise Edition. You are limited to ten currencies. Once you turn on multi-currency, you can’t turn it off. You can’t change a record’s currency once it’s been set. Multiple currencies are not supported in the Forecast Module. It does not convert currencies.

Zoho CRM is available in multiple languages, including double byte languages.

Platforms and synchronization

Zoho CRM can be accessed from any mainstream browser. There are also mobile versions available for iPhone and iPad, Android and Blackberry. Mobile application usage is an extra charge option that has to be separately enabled before you can use it. Pricing and license

Zoho CRM is free for up to 3 users, but the feature set is limited to sales automation, cases and resolutions, some reports, customizations and web forms. You are limited to 100,000 records and can upload 1,000 records per batch. The default storage is 100MB.

By upgrading to the Professional Edition, you get role-based security, unlimited email templates, mass email, products, price books and sales quotes, formula fields, inventory modules and workflow rules for $12 per user per month. The default storage is 250 MB, and you can import 10,000 records per batch. There are no limits on the number of records.

Upgrade to the Enterprise Edition and you gain group-level security, multiple currencies, case escalation rules, auto-responders, the ability to import 20,000 records per month, 500 MB of data storage, group chat, 30 work flow rules per module and web tabs for $25 per user per month.

Mobile versions cost an additional $3 per user per month for all editions. There are additional charges for Zoho Mail and a few other add-on applications. Prices for each of these vary by edition.

You can pay for annual contracts by wire transfer. Monthly contracts require Visa, MasterCard, American Express or PayPal. You can cancel, upgrade or downgrade at any time without penalty.

Bottom Line

Zoho CRM is an excellent package for companies that can manage around the ten currency limit. It is inexpensive; full featured and a pleasure to use. Support is excellent.
